Self-driving cars sound exciting. But for quite some time now, they just sound. We are going to see them at some point in the future, because in other words, we do not have them.
But engineers and developers seem to be trying to make it happen.
The Toyota Research Institute has equipped a prototype racing Supra with everything it needs so it can drive itself. Check out the new Fast and Furious in the video below from The Wheel Network on YouTube.
The description of the video states:
What if every driver faced problems possesses the instinctive reflexes of a professional race car driver and the calculated perspective of a supercomputer to avoid conflict?
Οι ερευνητές στο Toyota Research Institute συνεργάζονται με το Dynamic Stanford Design Lab to realize this vision.
Engineers conduct research on how to combine the instincts of professional drivers and automated technology driving.
Their goal is to design a new level of technologically active safety and to share it widely so that Toyota and other carmakers can develop it on the road.
