Piraeus Bank: Beware of a well-written scam circulating

An email purporting to be from Piraeus Bank states as the subject “Important: Regular Synchronization of your Account (EU Regulation 2025/115)” and requests that your account details be updated.piraeus

“As part of our full compliance with the new European regulatory framework for combating money laundering (AML) and the financing of terrorism (CFT), Piraeus Bank is regularly synchronizing all active customer accounts.

This process ensures that all your data is fully aligned with the requirements of the new regulation, while maintaining the seamless operation of all your banking services.”

“In the event that synchronization is not completed within ten (10) business days, certain functions such as payment orders, remittances and funds transfers may be temporarily suspended, in accordance with article 18 of Law 4557/2018 and the delegated act of the European Commission.
!
Note: The suspension of operations is a precautionary compliance measure. Piraeus Bank ensures the immediate restoration of all services after the synchronization is completed, within 24 hours.

The process takes a few minutes; secure connection via encrypted channel”

This particular scam seems very careful in its use of language (Greek without mistakes) but it asks for a connection to a website that is not the Bank's. That in itself (the fact that it contains a link to the bank is a red flag, as Piraeus would never ask you for such a thing).

The domain desk(.)logoviewbigdream(.)com does not correspond to any known, official or recognized website. It is a temporary, unknown or suspicious domain (website name). Such addresses are often used in misleading messages (phishing), scams or automated attacks on the Internet to steal information. You should not enter your personal information, passwords or data on this page.

Do not enter your passwords, this is a 100% fake website (phishing scam). Piraeus Bank has absolutely no relationship with desk(.)logoviewbigdream(.)com.

The malicious user copied the appearance of the official Piraeus e-banking page to mislead and steal from you:

The access codes (Username / Password), your card details, and/or the confirmation codes (SMS OTP / Push Notifications) that will come to your mobile phone.

What you should do immediately:

Close the page and do not type anything. If you have already written down your passwords, call Piraeus Bank customer service immediately so they can lock your e-banking and cards before they deduct any money from you.
