The Trump Organization introduced hats with the slogan “Trump 2028” on his website, supporting President Trump's suggestion that he could seek a third term.
Eric Trump, one of the president's sons, was seen wearing the new merchandise , which is being sold online for $50. The store also sells T-shirts with the same phrase and a slogan in parentheses that says "Rewrite the Rules."
The president and his team have repeatedly said they are considering a third run for the White House — something critics say violates the 22nd Amendment to the Constitution. Many Republicans see it as a joke.
The amendment states :
“No person shall be elected to the office of President more than twice and no person who has served as President or acted as President for more than two years of a term in which another person was elected President shall be elected to the office of President more than once.”
Despite the clause, Trump has repeatedly told NBC News and other media outlets that he is “not kidding” about seeking another term in office. Democrats have suggested they believe the president will likely try to find a way to get re-elected.
“We’re very popular. And you know, a lot of people would like me to do this,” Trump said of a third term. “But, I mean, I’m basically telling them, we have a long way to go.”
Although the press releases will range from very select to rare, I said I'd pass...because sometimes the editors hide.
