Today, Tuta he said that it will support the initiative Euro-Office together with Nextcloud and IONOS, one week before the first stable release of the project. With the support of EuroStack, Euro-Office is working to provide a leading, cloud-based office suite that will allow users, businesses and organizations to create, manage and collaborate on documents without relying on American big tech companies such as Microsoft or Google.
Created as a modern, open source alternative to traditional productivity platforms, Euro-Office will be a digitally sovereign solution, made in Europe for Europe. Tuta’s participation reinforces the initiative’s mission of building a sovereign, transparent and collaborative digital ecosystem in which any organization striving for a private and sovereign web can join and help make it happen.
“We have joined Euro-Office because we believe this project can become a truly mainstream alternative with excellent usability and data protection,” said Matthias Pfau, co-founder and CEO of Tuta. “It is built by European engineers, people and companies you can trust, and it is fully open source. This is exactly what we need here at Tuta to complement our encrypted offerings in Tuta Mail, Tuta Calendar and Tuta Drive.”
Frank Karlitschek, founder and CEO of Nextcloud, says: “We are moving even faster than we thought. One reason is that the project gained momentum and several additional organizations joined our original team.”
Although the press releases will range from very select to rare, I said I'd pass...because sometimes the editors hide.
