An application for mobile phones called Twitch, which allows its users to easily participate in ventures crowdsourcing developed researchers led by Michael Bernstein, Stanford University in California.
More generally, participants in crowdsourcing programs often receive some payment for performing simple tasks work, however very often these tasks take up a lot of the time one sits at computer, με αποτέλεσμα από ένα σημείο και μετά να χάνεται το ενδιαφέρον. Στην περίπτωση του Twitch, το crowdsourcing μεταφέρεται στο mobile, με την εφαρμογή να αντικαθιστά την οθόνη «ξεκλειδώματος» με ένα ειδικό interface for crowdsourcing: instead of the user doing the usual "unlock" action, they perform such tasks as, for example, choosing the best one between two photos or confirming (or not) an incident/event reported on a webσελίδα like Wikipedia.
According to a report by New Scientist, Berndstein's team raised Twitch in google Play and "recruited" 82 from the people who downloaded it. These users completed 11.200 work within three weeks. Researchers believe that the idea will respond as each job is extremely fast - a little more time-consuming than normal mobile unlocking. At the same time, the "spiritual burden" is considered negligible.
According to Rajan Wais, of the University of California, Santa Cruz (who will be presenting the application at a conference in Toronto in April), procedures for participating in crowdsourcing procedures often seem tedious, but when they show one by one through Twitch, will be encouraged, as there will in fact be no time commitment. "Research can now be done by everyone, and important things can be learned quickly by many people using cell phones," he notes. It is also expected to pave the way for a great deal of consumer research.
