Some argue that the 140-character limit is an integral part of it Twitter as a platform for fast news and also fast status updates.
Others again find this feature quite annoying.
So it looks like Twitter will institute a compromise: a post from Bloomberg states that TWitter "photo names and links will not count in the 140 characters from the next few weeks."
Surely the change will please several users, of course, if adopted by Twitter.
So far, following his principles, Twitter declined to comment on the rumors.
