Twitter has permanently closed Trump's account

In one Publication, Twitter said it keeps Trump and @realdonaldtrump away from its 88+ million followers.

The blog post mentions at least 2 which caused the company to permanently close the account:

After a careful review of the recent Tweets of the @realDonaldTrump account and specifically the way they are received and interpreted on Twitter, we have permanently suspended the account due to the risk of further incitement to violence.

Twitter gave Trump a chance shortly after the uprising but apparently the president is not saying to stop. So Twitter froze the @Potus account after the president's tweets.

The for the block were two Friday tweets seen as escalating ongoing tensions since the Jan. 6 storming of the Capitol.

The company displays the two controversial tweets:

On January 8, 2021, the president J. Trump said:

The 75,000,000 great American Patriots who voted for me, FIRST, and MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN, will have a GIANT VOICE long into the future. They will not be disrespected or treated unfairly in any way, shape or form!!!

and a little later:

To all of those who have asked, I will not be going to the Inauguration on January 20th.

We reviewed the two Tweets mentioned above. As part of our policy to crack down on violence that could inspire others to repeat violent acts, we decided that it was most likely to encourage and inspire να επαναλάβουν τις εγκληματικές πράξεις που έλαβαν χώρα στο Καπιτώλιο των on 6 January 2021.

This logic is based on several factors, such as:

  • The President's statement that he will not attend the swearing-in ceremony is taken by some of his supporters as further confirmation that the election was not legal and is considered to be a rejection of previous Tweets (1, 2) of the Deputy Chief of Staff, Dan Scavino, that there will be a "smooth follow-up" on 20 January.
  • The second Tweet can also serve as an encouragement that the swearing in would be a "safe" goal, as the president will not be present.
  • The use of the words "American Patriots" to describe some of his supporters is also interpreted as support for those who commit acts of violence in the US Capitol.
  • His reference to the fact that his supporters will have "GIANT VOICE long into the future" and that "They will not be disrespected or treated unfairly in any way, shape or form !!!" is interpreted as further indication that President Trump does not intend to facilitate a "smooth transition" and that he intends to continue to support, empower and protect those who believe he has won the election.
