Twitter today announced a new process for those who wish to verify their accounts (Verified accounts). The check mark is designed to allow known individuals and organizations to prove their authenticity among thousands of fake accounts. 
"We want to make it even easier for them people να βρουν δημιουργούς και άτομα με επιρροή με τη βοήθεια του Twitter και έτσι έχει νόημα να αφήσουμε περισσότερους ανθρώπους να υποβάλουν αίτηση για επαλήθευση”, δήλωσε η Tina Bhatnagar, αντιπρόεδρος του τμήματος υπηρεσιών για χρήστες του Τwitter.
"We hope that opening up this application process will help more people find high school quality accounts to follow, as well as content creators and influencers to connect with a wider audience.”
Typically the feature is exclusive to celebrities, journalists, politicians etc but the new system could give the verification badge to anyone who might be at risk account of impersonation. Apart from the sign added by the social network, nothing else changes in the account.
The application process will start today and will be available globally later in the week.
