According to police of Tempe, Arizona, the crash occurred when the vehicle in front turned left in front of the Uber on Don Carlos Drive.
The accident resulted in the Uber (Volvo) vehicle standing on one side of it.
The Tempe police said no one was injured. The self-driven Volvo SUV was a driver but did not seem to be driving.
Uber has reportedly suspended the pilot program of self-driving cars in Arizona until investigations into the incident are completed, according to Reuters and the Associated Press
"We are still investigating this incident and can confirm that there were no passengers in the back seat of the vehicle," a company spokesman said.
As mentioned before, the car according to the company was in self-driving mode at the time of the accident.
