After its official release Ubuntu 22.10 (Kinetic Kudu), all official flavors were updated to version 22.10.
So after the release of Ubuntu 22.10, new versions were released for Kubuntu 22.10, Xubuntu 22.10, Lubuntu 22.10, Ubuntu Unity 22.10, Ubuntu Studio 22.10, Ubuntu MATE 22.10, Ubuntu Budgie 22.10, Ubuntu Budgie 2, and 22.1, with the internal changes of Ubuntu 22.10.
As we mentioned in a previous post, Kinetic Kudu has also released the Unity 22.10 flavor, as the first release of an official Ubuntu flavor recognized by Canonical.
In addition, Kubuntu 22.10 and Ubuntu Studio 22.10 ship with the KDE Plasma 5.25.5 desktop environment by default (with a dark theme) instead of the latest KDE Plasma 5.26 series, which will be released as an update in the coming weeks.
Xubuntu 22.10 comes with desktop environment Xfce 4.17, which is a development snapshot of the upcoming Xfce 4.18 release, although the About Xfce panel will show Xfce 4.16. On the other hand, Lubuntu 22.10 comes with the latest desktop environment LXQt 1.1.0 by default.
Ubuntu MATE 22.10 features the latest MATE 1.26 desktop environment, while Ubuntu Budgie 22.10 ships with Budgie 10.6.4 by default. Both distributions now use PipeWire by default.

All official flavors of Ubuntu 22.10 (Kinetic Kudu) will be supported with software and security updates for only nine months, until July 2023, and will be replaced by Ubuntu 23.04 in April 2023.
