If you want to try Ubuntu 23.03, now is the time to get it. Canonical has just released the first beta of the distribution.
This beta version comes before the final stable version of Ubuntu 23.04, which is expected to be released on April 20. Its purpose is for testing by the general public to identify bugs, and any quirks that spoil the user experience.
As Ubuntu 23.04 is a short-term release (short-term release supported for 9 months), there are not many revolutionary changes in this release, which is called “Lunar Lobster".
Ubuntu 23.04 brings a new program though installations. The new installer offers almost the same features as the “legacy” installer, but uses a more flexible base code (thanks to Canonical's Subiquity server technology) and comes with a new look.
Aside from the appearance changes, most of the Lunar Lobster release improvements that users will see come from the GNOME 44 release that this update brings.
