Canonical is inviting artists, graphic designers and Ubuntu lovers from around the world to take part in the official wallpaper contest for the upcoming Ubuntu 24.04 LTS “Noble Numbat” operating system release.
Named “Noble Numbat”, Ubuntu 24.04 LTS is expected to be released on April 25, 2024, and the Ubuntu developers need your help with the wallpapers of the next Ubuntu LTS release and to celebrate Canonical's 20th anniversary.
Those interested are invited to submit their creation to the official Ubuntu 24.04 LTS “Noble Numbat” wallpaper contest from February 9th to March 4th. You can submit your creations to the official Ubuntu channel at Discourse.
In other words, you'll have to hurry because you have less than three weeks to submit your artwork, which if selected will appear on the desktops of millions of Ubuntu users from the end of April 2024.
The Ubuntu Desktop team will select the top 5 submissions to be included in the Noble Numbat release. The voting period will be from March 4 to 18, when the winners will be announced.
Some of the most important rules of the Ubuntu contest are that you must own the rights to the image you submit, you must use a CC BY-SA 4.0 or CC BY 4.0 license, and submitted images must be in 4K quality (3840x2160px) using PNG or WebP format.
This year, the Ubuntu Desktop team created four style categories, namely Mascot & Theme, Digital & Abstract Art, Nature, and Other.
