Hackers in Maryland University Systems, 300.000 Accounts at Risk

informalHackers have violated the Maryland University systems and acquired data belonging to more than 300.000 people associated with College Park and Shady Grove campuses and universities.  

Details of the details of the faculty, students and various collaborators have been exposed by this security. The stolen data includes Social Security numbers, names, dates of birth and university IDs, according to the ehackingnews.
The attackers managed to gain access to a database containing information dating back to 1998. .Other than stealing the data, the hackers did nothing on the server that hosted the web.

University President Wallace D. Loh says they are looking into the security breach in cooperation with authorities and will try their best to of that kind in the future.
