Many users are concerned about the telemetry collection services and data that Microsoft collects with Windows 10. Some view these features as an attempt espionageand rely on this reason not to upgrade from Windows 7.
After the release Windows 10, Microsoft released updates for Windows 7 and the Windows 8 , which increase the data collected by adding more Telemetry entry points to these operating systems. You should know that Windows 7 updates also come with Telemetry updates.
If you are not happy with the practice of collecting and sending any form of data to Microsoft, no matter what the company claims about exactly what it collects and for what purpose, you should know that in the Windows 7 KB3068708, KB3075249 and KB3080149 there is an increase in telemetry collection data.
If, on the other hand, you don't want to lose the rest of the upgrades that the above versions contain, then the solution is to install them and disable the "Customer Experience Improvement Program" (CEIP) option. When disabled, it prevents telemetry data from being collected and sent to Microsoft. This can be controlled by using Sysinternals TCPView which with CEIP disabled shows no Windows 7 traffic to Microsoft servers.
Below you can see how to completely disable the Customer Experience Improvement Program in Windows 7.
1. Open it Control panel
2. go to Control Panel \ System and Security \ Action Center
3. To the left, click Change Action Center settings.
4. On the next page, scroll down and click the link Customer Experience Improvement Program.
5. A dialog box will appear asking: Do you want to participate in the Customer Experience Improvement Program? Select the option No, I do not want to join the program, as shown in the image below, then click on button Save changes.
Additionally, you can disable some tasks on your work schedule.
1. Go to Control Panel \ System and Security \ Administrative Tools \ Task Schedule.
2. Open the following folder Task Scheduler > Task Scheduler Library > Microsoft > Windows > Application experience
3. Disable the following tasks:
