There are two versions of Virtual OS Museum: the full and the lite. The full version is currently sized 174GB and includes everything you need to run these ancient operating systems. The full version does not require a network connection to run.
The Lite version, however, which is only 14GB in size, requires an internet connection because it downloads the full image of the operating system you want to use.
The project is notable because it is the work of one man: Andrew Wartenkin, who has been collecting operating system images for over two decades.
Of course, Wartenkin didn't write all the emulation software himself, and he has a list of references to give credit where it's due... The Museum itself runs in a virtual machine, opens in a virtual Linux installation, and presents you with the full list of available operating systems.
