Η VideoLAN, recently revealed information about the upcoming VLC media Player 4.0 in one first presentation held at FOSDEM 2019.
VLC Media Player 4.0 will be the next major release of the application and will bring new and improved features. But according to the company, support for older operating systems will be reduced.
In short, VLC 4.0 will no longer support Windows XP or Vista, Mac OS X 10.10 or oldest, Android 4.2 or earlier and from iOS 8 or earlier.
VideoLAN has released a preview version of the app for those who want to try it out. Before downloading the new version, it is a good idea to reconsider, as this is a preview version. This means that it is under development and may present you with errors, missing features and many more and unpleasant.
The new VLC Media Player 4.0 application will come with many changes in appearance, changes in video output architecture, media library, playlists, etc. It will support virtual reality, 3D and much more.
The media library used in the Android version of VLC will come to desktop with versions but also the iOS version.
Features will include an index sound and video, playlist support and music and video sharing support.

VLC 4.0 will support virtual reality devices such as Vive, PSVR or Oculus. The developers have managed to find a way to interact directly with these devices, so that it is not necessary to install drivers.
