WhatsApp app will soon stop working on many old devices as the app requires new generation operating systems which are no longer available on some models.
In other words, if you can't update your mobile OS, you might not be able to run the WhatsApp app anymore as the company is trying to focus only on new generation devices.
The target date for this change is December 31st. So from January 1, WhatsApp will stop supporting these devices.
“To keep up with the latest developments in technology, we typically stop supporting older operating systems to direct our resources to supporting the latest. If we stop supporting your operating system, you will be notified and sometimes reminded to upgrade your device to continue using WhatsApp," WhatsApp says on its page.
