The Whonix (formerly called TorBOX or AOS) is a general purpose operating system
based on Virtual Box, Debian GNU / Linux and Tor.
The most interesting feature of course is that with this operating system you are completely anonymous when you go out on the internet. 
The design of Whonix does not allow IP and DNS leaks usesth. Not even with root (administrator) malware can anyone learn the user's real location.
This is because Whonix consists of two (virtual) machines. A machine
only Tor runs and acts as a gateway, which the system calls Whomnix-Gateway.
The other machine, which is referred to as Whonix-Workstation, is one
completely isolated network that only lets connections through Tor.
