The WikiLeaks appears to be quite thoughtful following reports by unnamed officials that Assange will not face any of the charges against him, arguing that it could be a ploy to undermine the support of Australias.
". It remains to be seen whether the allegations by these unknown, anonymous officials are more than an attempt to reduce public support for WikiLeaks."
The Washington Post reported that the Justice Department of USA it will not charge Assange for publishing classified documents because it could not do so without prosecuting other news organizations and journalists.
"The time has come for the FBI to abandon the WikiLeaks's absurd prosecution and launch a full and open investigation into what has been done," WikiLeaks reported.
Of course, while the Washington Post reported last week that US officials have said there is no approved indictment for Assange, he claims that the US is likely to have issued such a document and a validated issuing order.
Assange insists he could be arrested by the British police and taken to the US if he left the Ecuador Embassy.
42 time has resorted to the London embassy here for 18 months, avoiding its release in Sweden for an alleged sexual assault.
Assange earlier claimed this year that even if the accusations by the Swedish authorities fall, he will not leave Ecuador's embassy in fear of being arrested and tried in the US.
Assange's lawyer, Barry Pollack, said the founder of WikiLeaks would welcome a "formal, unequivocal statement" from Washington that he would not prosecute him and would not do so in the future.
"Unfortunately, to date, the Department of Justice has not been prepared to make such a statement," Pollack told Guardian.
