WikiLeaks published today “Sony Files,” an online database containing 173.132 emails post officeand 30.287 documents stolen in the 2014 Sony Pictures hack.
In accordance with WikiLeaks, the leaked details contain emails between the company and the White House, and there are "nearly 100 US government emails" in the database.
Some of the emails make public the connection between Sony and the Democratic Party, such as Sony employees' participation in a charity dinner and campaigns to help New York Republican governor Andrew Cuomo be elected.
“Τα αρχεία δείχνουν τις εσωτερικές λειτουργίες μιας σπουδαίας πολυεθνικής εταιρείας,” αναφέρει ο editor-in-chief του WikiLeaκs Julian Assange in a blog post.
"It is worthy of a geo-politics conflicts. They belong to the public. WikiLeaks will make sure they stay there.”
After the 2014 hack, the White House named North Korea as the attacker behind the breaches. North Korea reportedly carried out the attacks in retaliation for the release of the movie “The Interview,” in which the protagonists were trying to assassinate the country's ruler, Kim Jong-un. Immediately after, completely by accident, North Korea lost the ability to connect to the internet throughout the country.
Many of the leaked documents became headlines last year after leaks by hackers themselves.
