Winamp, the iconic media player since the late 1990s, has released its full source code on GitHub, fulfilling a promise that given in May. The move aims to modernize the app by inviting developers to collaborate on the project.
The source code release includes build tools and related libraries for the Windows application, allowing developers to provide bug fixes and new features.
However, the user license prohibits the distribution of modified software created from this code.

Winamp is a media player released in 1997, notable for its flexibility and broad compatibility with various audio formats. Originally developed by Nullsoft, it gained immense popularity with millions of users.
Then the company acquired it Radionomy that planned a reboot of the glorious past, with an all-in-one app.
But its growth slowed down.
But as of today, its source code has been opened to the community, allowing developers to improve and modernize the player to meet current user needs.
