Windows 10 version 1809: May 12, 2020 support end

Microsoft plans to end support for Windows 10 version 1809, also known as the 'October 2018 Update'. The operating system will stop receiving security updates starting May 12, 2020. If you don't remember version 1809, let us tell you that it was the most adventurous version of Windows, so much so that some called it Vista.

Windows 10 of 1809, codenamed 'Redstone 5', was a major update to the Windows 10 family. It brought File Explorer with support for , added the snip as a new option to quickly enable Action center, Cloud Clipboard and in Windows HD Color options in "Settings".

Microsoft has withdrawn this version of Windows 10 (October 2018 Update) immediately after its release due to some critical bugs. On March 20, 2019, Microsoft re-released the operating system to the public.

According to the company's schedule, from May 12, 2020, all Windows 10 SKUs of version 1809 will no longer receive updates.

Running an older version of Windows on your computer is not safe, as such a version could allow hackers to exploit vulnerabilities that have not been closed with updates.
