The Windows 11 may be making all the headlines lately, but it's important to remember that Windows 10 version 21H2 is getting ready for the public. Microsoft has not given any official release date yet, but the final version has reached the channel release preview recently.
The Windows 10 of version 20H2 were released on October 20, 2020, which means we can expect the 21H2 version sometime in October.
The 21H2 version is supposed to be a relatively small one upgrade, αλλά είναι σημαντική για τους υπολογιστές που δεν πληρούν τις απαιτήσεις της Microsoft για τα Windows 11.
The upcoming functional Windows 10 version 21H2 is an activation pack, just as version 21H1 was for version 20H2. This essentially means that the “new” features available with this update are already there in version 21H1, but in a dormant state. Your PC isn't going to get any new features, but this update will just add some features that are already there.
In terms of features that will appear will not be many. When Microsoft announced some details about the update in July, it mentioned a total of three features that will be enabled in Windows 10 of version 21H2.
1. The operating system will support WPA3 H2E standards for increased Wi-Fi security. H2E stands for "Hash-to-Element" and is an improvement over the Wi-Fi Protected Access III (WPA3) standard. According to Cisco, the WPA3 H2E is computationally much more efficient than its predecessor and is also resistant to side channel attacks used by malicious users to steal credentials.
2. Microsoft added a new method of using Windows Hello for Business called cloud trust. If you're wondering what the difference is between regular Windows Hello that you can use on your PC versus Windows Hello for Business: The former is used by consumers to create a PIN or biometric gesture as an alternative sign-in method. On the other hand, Windows Hello for Business is used by businesses and configured using group policies or policies managementof mobile devices (MDM). It always uses asymmetric authentication, which makes it much stronger in terms of security.
Finally, the third feature that Microsoft will feature in Windows 3 version 10H21 is GPU compute support in Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) and Azure IoT Edge for Linux on Windows (EFLOW).
This is done to facilitate the machine learning that requires resources.
