As it may seem, Microsoft is more concerned with the security of the Windows 10 end-user. The latest version of the operating system preview was released with a significant improvement in this area.
The new Windows 10 Redstone build 14271 comes with offline Windows Defender enabled, a feature which allows users to scan for threats before logging into Windows.
A boot scanner is definitely a feature that all modern phones should have solutions antivirus, as it could prevent malware from running and loading at startup.
Windows Defender Offline is not a new feature, as Microsoft has first released 2011.
It was available as a standalone application that allowed users to scan their computers at boot time. The latest update released 2015, and since then, Microsoft has reported nothing about this functionality and Windows 10.
But Windows Defender Offline is now built into Windows 10 and available through it screen settings. The same feature was available in the new OS from build 1511 but was not included in the Settings screen, and the only way to launch it was through the MpWDOScan command from Powershell.
Please note that build 14271 is only available for Windows Insider registered users in the Fast Ring. Normally the new feature will be available to everyone when Redstone is released this summer.
