Security for Windows 10: Many people find virus protection software useless because they can stay away from any cyber threats on their own, while others prefer to install a security application and let it take care of everything related to security of their devices.
However, choosing a suitable and reliable antivirus is not easy, as there are a lot of options today. So here come the test companies, who evaluate the products with the best detection, performance and usability.
To mention that because we are talking about private companies, and the ultimate goal of any company is financial profits, it would be good to see the results that serve us, with critical thinking. Why is such important software missing?
The latest tests for antivirus products conducted in November and December by AV-TEST experts reveal that only three different applications managed to reach the highest score in the three evaluation categories: better detection, performance and usability.
BullGuard Internet Security, Kaspersky Internet Security and NortonLifeLock Norton Security are the Antivirus that managed to get 18 out of 18 points in each rating category.
It may come as a surprise that only three applications reached the top score, but there are many other products whose performance was almost perfect and (17,5 points). These applications are Avast Free Antivirus, Microsoft Windows Defender, VIPRE Security AdvancedSecurity and Avira Antivirus Pro.
Microsoft's Windows Defender, which comes pre-installed with Windows 8.1 and Windows 10, impressed again during the tests, as its performance was the same or even better than that captured by top security application developers. Windows Defender got 6 points for protection, 5,5 for performance and 6 points for usability.
The worst application in this new test round is Protected.net Total AV. Her score reached just 14 points with 4 points for protection, 4 points for performance and 6 points for usability.
