Cumulative updates of Windows 10 is a rather controversial practice of the company. It certainly serves many users who run the last version of Microsoft's operating system, but at the same time, it's a nightmare for others who can't install them.
There is also a problem for those who do not want to install the whole package, or to uninstall some specific information.
Let's talk about KB3197954, which was released to Windows 10 users last week. The update seems to be unable to be installed in too many systems and the reason has not yet been determined by Microsoft.
Posts in Microsoft forum show various issues with this particular cumulative update (KB3197954). Users report that it freezes the system, but in most cases, the typical "failing to install" error appears.
"Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x800F0922: Update for Windows (KB3197954).”
"The installation starts fine, but during the reboot it shows that the installation failed. Windows Update History reports only "Installation Failure." writes a user in the forum.
There is currently no response from Microsoft. But after a week, Tuesday's Patch will be released, so the company is expected to release new cumulative updates that may fix the problem.
Patience…
