Windows 10 Ring: Windows Hello is going to be enhanced with an "awesome" new device. Microsoft has confirmed that it is working with Token to build a smart ring that will support the Windows 10 biometric system.
Windows Hello supports authentication with many technologies, such as through the camera and with a fingerprint reader. Now with the upcoming ring, it will be possible to log in to your account with almost no effort.
Why additional security in Windows 10?
Microsoft explains that over 80% of users use the same password on multiple sites and accounts.
It also states that some have up to 30 accounts with the same password. This obviously increases the risk of billing. A violation of a single service opens the door to many other accounts that use the same code.
"Login credentials are such an important measure to secure your device, because hackers can use social engineering, phishing or keylogging techniques to steal passwords from your device or compromise the server where the passwords are stored. access ”, says Microsoft.
The company did not give too many details on how the smart ring will work. But he said he is working with too many to sell a large number of such devices on the market. As is natural, Microsoft is trying to make its product much more attractive by investing in security. A ring for login to your device may not tell you a lot about you, but there are certainly some who find it an unlikely achievement. Especially if they want to show it to their friends.
It is most likely to see the new ring in September, when the company will officially release the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update. The new update is currently in preview and available with build preview to Insiders.
