Windows 10 May 2019 block on systems with USB / SD

Microsoft today released one support document which warns them των Windows 10 ότι η επικείμενη ενημέρωση Μαΐου 2019 (May 2019 Update) ενδέχεται να μην εγκατασταθεί στα συστήματά τους αν χρησιμοποιούν εξωτερικές συσκευές αποθήκευσης USB ή κάρτες SD.

Η reportedly noticed problems with “improper repositioning ” or “inappropriate drive reassignment” and cites it as the main reason for blocking the May 2019 Update.

"Improper disk reinsertion can occur on computers that have an external USB device or card ς SD κατά τη διάρκεια της εγκατάστασης του May 2019 Update”, ανέφερε η εταιρεία. “Για αυτόν τον λόγο, αυτοί οι υπολογιστές είναι αυτήν τη στιγμή αποκλεισμένοι από τη λήψη της ενημέρωσης.”

So if you are using a USB or SD card, you will see the following message if you are trying to upgrade to Windows 10 May 2019 Update.

Windows 10 May 2019 Update

Fortunately, there is a quick and simple solution to this issue. Microsoft recommends that users remove any external USB or SD media and restart the update installation.

This includes USB drives, external USB hard drives, or SD cards inserted into card readers.
In the long run, Microsoft plans to address the issue of "improper disk relocation" in a future Windows 10 update.

Microsoft will not exclude the May update to all Windows 10 users, but only to those who use April 2018 Update (Window 10, 1803 version) or October 2018 Update (Window 10, version 1809). Users using earlier versions of Window 10 will be able to update May without any problems.

The May 2019 Update will be released next month. Windows 10 users can delay the update if they so wish. For eager users, the May 2019 Update ISO is already available in MSDN.
