Windows 10 May 2021 Update just released

Η επόμενη μεγάλη ενημέρωση της Microsoft για τα Windows 10 άρχισε να να κυκλοφορεί. Το Windows 10 May 2021 focuses on improving remote work, brings multi-cam capability for Windows Hello.

The latter will be especially useful for Surface devices whose owners may want to connect a monitor to an additional webcam while working from home.

Here are the new features of the Windows 10 May 2021 Update (version 21H1):

  • Multimedia Support for Windows Hello to set one as the default camera when there are external and internal .
  • Windows performance improvements Application Guard, such as optimizing scripts for opening documents.
  • Windows Policy Instrumentation (WMI) Group Policy Service (GPSVC) that updates performance improvements to support remote work.

Microsoft usually releases a major Windows 10 update in the spring, and a smaller one in the fall. The company seems to have reversed this plan for 2021, so the update that will probably be released in October will bring more changes.

The next big update will include new system icons, File Explorer enhancements and more will stop using the icons of the Windows 95 era.

Microsoft says it will bring broader visual changes to Windows 10, in a "sweeping visual revitalization of Windows." The October update will also fix the issue of rearranging applications on multiple screens, add Xbox Auto HDR capability, and improve Bluetooth audio support.

Today's update of May 2021 is so small that you will not notice that it will be installed. Microsoft uses a special activation package so that the features are simply hidden on your computer right now. This update simply activates them.

As always, the Windows 10 May 2021 Update will be available on Windows Update, but if you don't see it yet, that's because Microsoft is rolling it out gradually to ensure there aren't compatibility.

If you dare, Microsoft allows users to upgrade through it media tool.
