Windows 10 May 2021 Update on Release Preview Channel
Windows 10 May 2021 Update is complete and Build 19043.928 is the potential release candidate. The update will be released in May and will bring small improvements, mainly to corporate customers.
Microsoft officially named the 21H1 version "May 2021 Update" and launched it on the Release Preview Channel.
This is not a huge upgrade and as mentioned above the improvements are more about corporate customers.
Windows 10 May 2021 Update, according to Microsoft, will be more supportive of remote work.
The most important new feature of this update is the support of external cameras for Windows Hello. In the original changelog, the company states that users will now be able to use an external camera as the default solution for Windows Hello even if there are already internal cameras.
In this feature update, Microsoft is also making performance improvements to the Windows Defender Application Guard (WDAG). This feature is available to both professionals and is a level of virtualization that can protect your computer when browsing unreliable sites.
This feature is based on Hyper-V and works on compatible hardware where virtualization is enabled in the BIOS settings.
After applying the update to your system, Microsoft reports that you will notice performance improvements when you use features offered by Windows Defender Application Guard (WDAG).
The third and last new addition is only for corporate customers. According to changelog, Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) has been updated to improve performance for remote work support.
The next update is in the final testing phase and anyone can download it from the Release Preview Channel.
