Windows 10 May 2021 Update is complete and Build 19043.928 is the potential release candidate. The update will be released in May and will bring small improvements, mainly to corporate customers.
Microsoft officially named version 21H1, “May 2021 Update” and promoted it to Release Preview Channel.
This is not a huge upgrade and as mentioned above the improvements are more about corporate customers.
Windows 10 May 2021 Update, according to Microsoft, will be more supportive of remote work.
The most important new feature in this update is external camera support for Windows Hello. In the original changelog, the company mentions that users will now be able to use some external camera as the default solution for Windows Hello even if internal cameras are already present.
In this feature update, Microsoft is also making performance improvements to the Windows Defender Application Guard (WDAG). This feature is available to both professionals and is a level of virtualization that can protect your computer when browsing unreliable sites.
This feature is based on Hyper-V and works on compatible hardware where virtualization is enabled in the BIOS settings.
After applying the update to your system, Microsoft reports that you will notice performance improvements when you use features offered by Windows Defender Application Guard (WDAG).
The third and final new addition is for enterprise customers only. According to the changelog, Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) has been updated to improve performance for remote support work.
The next update is in the final testing phase and anyone can download it from the Release Preview Channel.
