Windows 10 conversion to Windows 7 (registry, group policy and AME)

It has been almost three years since Windows 11 was released, and still, Microsoft has not managed to win the hearts of most users and convince them about its new operating system.

Windows 11's market share is estimated to be less than a third of all Windows PCs according to Statcounter.Windows 7

But modifying and removing unnecessary components of the operating system is something that has become somewhat common practice among Windows friends.

Statcounter's data also suggests that there are still users with Windows 7, one of the most beloved Windows ever, even though Windows 10 holds the highest market share.

A Windows friend and YouTuber recently posted a video showing how you can convert Windows 10 to Windows 7 by modifying the registry, group policy, and finally using the AME Wizard which does the main transformation. AME Wizard, a Playbook titled “Transforming Windows 10 into Windows 7 pack” was used.

For those wondering, AME Wizard is a Windows modification tool that helps users modify the operating system in Playbooks. Playbooks are pre-built with the necessary modifications and already have ready-made settings. Playbooks can also be custom built by users.

So there are two variants of AME Wizard, one for Windows 11 and one for 10. AME Wizard 11 is for the latest operating system, AME Wizard 10 is compatible with Windows 10.

You can watch the 17 minute+ video. Do we recommend proceeding? Obviously not on the computer you use every day, but you can try it in a VM.
