Windows 10 October 2018 available for advanced users

Η Windows 10 version 1809, or the Windows 10 October 2018 Update, is now available for “power users” according to Microsoft.

Microsoft started rolling out the update in early October 2018, but stopped making it available through due to errors that deleted files.

Microsoft took about six weeks to re-release Windows 10 in the 1809 version in November of 2018. The company later released a cumulative update of Windows 10 in December, which corrected additional bugs.

Yesterday 17 December of 2018, Microsoft announced that Windows 10 October 2018 Update is again available to everyone. However, the update still blocks some AMD Radeon HD2000 and HD4000 graphics processing devices, TrendMicro devices, or devices with some versions of Intel's screen drivers.

Microsoft says on the Windows 10 Update History in the 1809 version:

Rollout Status as of December 17, 2018: Windows 10, version 1809, is now fully available to advanced users who choose to install it manually from "Check for updates" via Windows Update.

So a click on "check for updates" will install Windows 10 October 2018 Update.

Do you have to update?

You might want to wait a little longer for the update. Microsoft said the update is for advanced users. The company may automatically release the update but did not reveal when.

If you are bold and want to update, make a backup of your system before proceeding.
