Previously, if the application identified malicious software, it was automatically sent to Microsoft without requesting permission from the end user.
Please note that options are already available to disable Windows Defender's automatic submission of samples in the company (check in Settings), but it is the first time that the application displays such prompts and gives users more control over their files.
Terry Myerson, head of Microsoft's Windows division, explained in late September that Windows 10 does send some information to the company, but claimed that none of that information was personal. (probably the neighbor's)
"We collect a limited amount of information to help us provide a safe and reliable experience. Updates on the business operating system within the current year will allow corporate customers to opt out of telemetry, but we strongly recommend that you do not do so. "
said Myerson.
At present, Microsoft is still making tweaking of the Windows 10 privacy settings.
Perhaps if voices of disaffected users are more likely to hear the coming builds collect less data.
