Microsoft is apparently trying to end support for the classic Windows 10 Control Panel, and the update Redstone 2 is said to be the version which will focus more on the Settings app, which is supposed to provide almost the same functionality.
The latest version of Windows 10 Redstone 2 shows Microsoft's plan to remove it shortcut which leads to Control Panel Win+X or right-click from the Start menu. So it's a little harder to get instant access.
Many options with settings from the control panel have already migrated to the Settings app, the Control Panel appears to be still accessible without tweaks in the registry or other solutions.
From build 14.942, the easiest way to open the Control Panel is to open File Explorer (a folder) and type “Control Panel” in the address bar. Alternatively, you can also enable the old settings with some registry tweaks that restore the shortcut to Win+X.
Although the change may not appeal to many users the merger of the Settings app and the Panel Control will make things much easier to manage the system.
Additionally, we should admit that the first Microsoft Settings app was too rough.
The Redstone 2 will be officially released in the spring of 2017.
