Windows 10 with the ability to pause updates

To date, only Windows 10 Professional users have been able to stop the updates while in Windows Update, but this is about to change. Windows 10 Home users will soon be able to stop the updates while they are in progress for up to seven days.

This feature will be released for everyone in the next major update to Windows 10 that we know as 19H1. The upcoming big version will be released sometime in April 2019.

Paul Thurrott he remarked this change for the first time and is something Microsoft has not yet announced in the publications it has made on the Windows Insider blog.

Of course, there is a limit: You can only pause updates for seven days at a time. To do this, you just need to follow the path Settings - Update and Security - Windows Update.

There will be an option "Pause Updates for 7 days" or "Pause Updates for 7 days" in Windows 10 Home.

Windows 10 will not be able to install paused updates. However, when you continue updating (if the seven-day period expires or if you click the "Resume updates" button), Windows will check for updates and install them.

Of course, the feature will not help you permanently avoid updates, but for seven days at a time. Then you will need to update your system.

But as we do, it is a huge improvement because if you are on a journey or busy with something, you will be able to update it after a week.

Windows 10 Professional users still have more control since they can pause updates for up to 35 days.
