The Windows 11 2024 update, also known as the 24H2 version (Windows 11 2024 Update), is finally publicly available. Microsoft announced the launch along with new AI-powered features coming soon to Windows Insiders with Copilot+ PCs.
Unlike recent Windows 11 updates, the 24H2 release is a “full OS swap”. Microsoft is known to gradually roll out the update to people who already have Windows 11 in versions 22H2 and 23H2. If you are on these versions look in the Settings app and manually check for the update.
If you want to be one of the early adopters (we don't recommend it), go to Settings > Windows Update and toggle "Get the latest updates as soon as they're available." After that, check for updates and if your system is eligible and there are no blocking issues, the Settings app will allow you to download Windows 11 version 24H2.
Note that updating to Windows 24 2H11 requires the May 2024 Preview update. Of course you can download Windows 24 2H11 ISOs from the official website and clean install the OS (BitLocker will be enabled by default in Home and Pro versions, but you can disable it).
New features in Windows 24 2H11 include updated menus, improvements to the Settings app, HDR wallpaper support, Wi-Fi 7 support, redesigned battery saver and power settings, quick settings, and more.
