In July, Microsoft first announced the upcoming Windows 11 feature update version 23H2, listing its system requirements. This came after another major announcement of Windows 11, where the company informed about the Windows 21 release date 2H11 , which is expected later this year, in October 2023.

Earlier today, the company published a reminder, and explained how it will proceed with the important update. Microsoft said that the Tuesday October 2023 update will be the final security update for version 21H2. He also mentioned that the upcoming September update will be the last optional update.
As is usually the case after such announcements, be it Windows 10 or Windows 11, the Redmond-based company said that those PCs still running Windows 11 version 21H2 will be automatically updated to the latest supported version, which likely means that they will install automatically version 22H2 on all supported devices.
The company says:
To help you stay protected and productive, Windows Update will automatically initiate a feature update for Windows 11 consumer devices and unmanaged business devices that are at end-of-service or within several months of end-of-service. This will keep your device supported and receiving monthly updates that are critical to the security and health of the ecosystem.
