A message on the Windows Health Dashboard website confirms that Microsoft is starting to ship Windows 11 version 23H2 to devices with versions older than 21H2 and 22H2.
Microsoft says it will automatically update these PCs gradually as they have reached the end of support – in the case of Windows 11 21H2 – or are coming soon, as in the case of Windows 11 22H2, which ends support in October.
The company also added that the process is based on machine learning (ML) which will help in the “safe” phase-out of version 23H2 (update 2023).
Microsoft states:
“Windows 11, version 23H2, also known as Windows 11 2023 update, is now entering a new release phase. We are starting to automatically update eligible devices with Windows 11 in version 23H2.”
“If you have an eligible Home or Pro device, you can update to version 23H2 by going to Settings > Windows Update, turning on “Get the latest updates as they become available,” and selecting Check for updates. Once the update is available for your device, you will see Download and Install.”
