As we reported recently, Windows 11 24H2 will start rolling out in the coming weeks. Microsoft has already asked OEMs to prepare Windows 11 24H2 drivers following the new guidelines. Now the company has started preparing the .ISO files. The links to the OEM ISOs are already on Microsoft's servers.
Windows 11 24H2 files are labeled “X23-81971_26100.1742.240906-0331.ge_release_svc_refresh_CLIENT_CONSUMER_x64FRE_en-us.iso”.
It appears to be an official version of Windows 11 version 24H2. However, the naming format is somewhat unusual compared to expected file names like “Win11_24H2_English_x64.iso”.
The extended identifier and metadata in the name (eg svc_refresh, ge_release) confirm that this is an internal release or an OEM release. The name type “ge_release_svc_refresh” is often used for pre-release releases or ISOs aimed at OEMs or internal testing.
There is another ISO labeled “CLIENT_CONSUMER_x64FRE”, which appears to be a consumer version, but is again intended for use by OEMs.
A search with the names above will show you these files online (Reddit or forums), but we recommend not using an OEM ISO on your system.
If you are interested in the files you will find them below. The files are hosted on a Microsoft server, so they are checked and verified with the checksum, but as we mentioned above you should not use Windows 11 24H2 OEM ISO on your computer.
