Windows 11 26H2 early install

Microsoft has released a new build to the Release Preview channel for Windows 11 Insiders. The new build, 26300.9278, is not a standard build, as it brings the upcoming Windows 11 build 26H2 for testing.

The company confirmed that build 26H2 shares the same servicing branch as builds 24H2 and 25H2, meaning those users can now get build 26H2 simply by downloading the eKB or activation package. In this case, that’s KB5121794. So PCs running Windows 11 24H2 and 25H2 can upgrade to 26H2 using the activation package KB5121794. The eKB works because 24H2, 25H2, and 26H2 share the same kernel.

The latest Windows 11 26H2 preview (Update 2026) is available for testing since August 27, 2026. If you want to install it manually, you can download the final version in an activation package (eKB).

Before continuing, make sure you have installed all the latest updates via Windows Update. Then you can proceed.

The download is available for standard x64 systems using AMD and Intel processors.

To install the update, run the Windows11.0-KB5121794-x64.msu file contained in “Windows11.0-KB5121794-x64.msu.zip ” (173 KB) and apply the activation package.
