StatCounter's latest data is no April Fool's joke. The March 2023 report shows that Windows 11, Microsoft's newest operating system is now on one in five Windows PCs as it nears the 21% mark.
In March 2023, Windows 11 gained 1,81 points and went from 19,13% to 20,94%. However, Windows 10 also moved up, although not as much as in February 2023, when Microsoft stopped supporting Windows 7 and 8.1. Today Windows 10 is at 73,48%, up 0,17 points from last month.
Unsurprisingly, many people started abandoning Windows 7 and 8.1 much faster after Microsoft announced the end of the program Extended Security Updates (ESU). Windows 7 continues the drop them, reaching 3,72% and losing 1,62 points. Windows 8.1 currently has a asignalto 0,84% of the market share, a decrease of 0,3 points from February 2023.
