StatCounter's latest data is no April Fool's joke. The March 2023 report shows that Windows 11, the newest operating system of Microsoft it is now in every fifth computer with Windows as it almost reaches the 21% mark.
In March 2023, Windows 11 gained 1,81 points and went from 19,13% to 20,94%. However, Windows 10 also moved up, although not as much as in February 2023, when Microsoft stopped supporting Windows 7 and 8.1. Today Windows 10 is at 73,48%, up 0,17 points from last month.
Unsurprisingly, many people started abandoning Windows 7 and 8.1 much faster after Microsoft announced the end of the program Extended Security Updates (ESU). Windows 7 continues its decline, reaching 3,72% and losing 1,62 points. Windows 8.1 currently has a paltry 0,84% market share, down 0,3 points from February 2023.

When it comes to the other operating systems (Android, iOS, macOS, ChromeOS, Linux and others), Windows remains the second most popular operating system, losing ground only to Android.
