Microsoft today released Windows 11 Build 22000.120 for users following the Dev and Beta channels of Windows Insider. It is the fifth cumulative update for Windows 11 RTM Build 22000 and comes with several quality improvements.
But there do not seem to be any new features or significant improvements.
If you check for updates today, a new update "Cumulative Update for Windows 11 (10.0.22000.120) (KB5005188) or Cumulative Update for Windows 11 (10.0.22000.120) (KB5005188)" will appear on the screen. There is also a new Defender security update and it will download and install automatically if you press the control button for updates.
Windows 11 KB5005188 comes with enhancements for desktop users. Microsoft has updated the right click of File Explorer (context menu) and now displays a compact interface. The Windows 11 right-click context menu looked too large on the desktop, and Microsoft seems to have picked it up a bit.
New enhancements to Windows 11 Build 22000.120 (KB5005188)
As you may know, Windows 11 brings a new widgets panel, which is essentially a group of small applications. These widgets are accessible directly from the taskbar and provide users with weather updates, sports scores, traffic updates and more.
Build 22000.120 introduces a new Family widget for Windows 11 users. The new widget receives data from your Microsoft account and is available in all languages and regions.
Once pinned to the widget menu, it can help you display the recent activity of each member of your family if you have a family on your Microsoft account.
Microsoft also provided notification badging for the Chat icon on the taskbar. This will allow users to view notifications from the taskbar. The company also reportedly improved the close button in the taskbar preview windows.
