Microsoft has released Windows 11 Build 22000.132 for Insider subscribers to the Dev and Beta channels. The new cumulative update for Windows 11 brings bug fixes and quality improvements.
There are no new features as the 21H2 version of the operating system has already reached RTM mode.
This update is titled "Cumulative Update for Windows 11 (10.0.22000.132) (KB5005190)" and can be installed via Windows Update.
In addition to the cumulative update, the company has released a new version of the Windows Defender malware removal application, as well as an .NET Framework update for August 2021.
Update KB5005190 for Windows 11 brings major improvements to the integration of the Microsoft Teams Chat taskbar. As you probably know, the ability to chat through the Microsoft Teams application is integrated directly into the taskbar, allowing users to start chatting or calling for free.
As you can see in the screenshot above, Windows 11 will have a special button for the Microsoft Teams chat application. Until now, the functionality of the Teams chat application was very limited and allowed users to chat only with each other.
With today's update, Microsoft is slowly starting to have group audio and video calling capabilities.
You can now create and join appointments directly from the taskbar with the ability to switch between a microphone or a camera. You will soon be able to share your screen and view the list of participants in the chat window.
With the new preview version, the Snipping Tool, Mail & Calendar and Windows Calculator applications have also been updated.
In Snipping Tool, Microsoft merged the classic Snipping and Snip & Sketch to create a program called "Snipping Tool" combining the capabilities of the old and new applications.
In a Q&A Microsoft has clarified that any new visual changes will not affect the performance of Windows 11. We will see this of course.
For those of you who have not installed Windows 11 and want to try out the Beta, you can create an ISO for clean installation from Microsoft servers. Read the instructions here.
