It seems that the name of the next generation of Windows can be changed from "Windows (10) + something" to "Windows 11."
In 2015, Microsoft announced that Windows 10 would be the final release of the operating system and that there will be no Windows 11 or Windows 12.
For the past six years, Microsoft has provided continuous updates in Windows 10, but that could soon change. CEO Satya Nadella recently confirmed that Microsoft is preparing a next-generation operating system and it's going to be "one of the most important updates". Some speculate it will be called Windows 11.
Upcoming update Sun Valley it will be a big upgrade, but it will still be considered another version of Windows 10. If Microsoft wants a very special and big Windows update, they should change the name of Windows 10 and add the month at the end.
Microsoft has schedule a Windows event for June 24th, where we expect the new version of the operating system to be released. Microsoft refers to the upcoming release as "next generation Windows", but the name will be revealed during the event.
However, if you follow the news closely, then you already know that there is a chance we will see "Windows 11". If you look closely at the teaser posted below, there appears to be a new Windows logo and its shadow creates an outline that shows "11".
Microsoft has remove deliberately the horizontal shadow and it is not wrong. Similarly, the event starts at 11am. ET, which raises the possibility of the “Windows 11” name.
