Windows 11 NVMe performance issues

Several users of Windows 11 report slowing NVMe performance on various online forums in recent months. The problems seem to be very different, as different discs show different symptoms.nvme

For example, some NVMe display reduced I / O speeds per second (IOPS) while others display reduced read / write speeds. The performance downgrades reported are based on comparisons with Windows 10.

Here is a Publication in the Microsoft forum where the user "MJ_JasonM" writes that the performance of random registration of his SSD has been reduced by almost half, compared to Windows 10.

A Microsoft employee, Neal Christiansen (username Reddit-neochristi), it seems confirmed that Microsoft is investigating the matter in response to a Reddit thread stating slower access times and reduced random registrations:

Hello, I'm in the Microsoft File Systems group and I'm investigating this issue.

Windows 11 users have also written many comments on this issue in Feedback Hub. An interesting comment from commenter Jeff C suggests that the problem could be related to the drivers provided by Microsoft:

Random write speeds are 4 times slower in Win 11 with Samsung NVMe discs

Further testing of all Nvme drives using Microsoft drivers presents the same problem, but the Intel 905P that has its own driver provided by Intel fits the full specifications.

However, these are all assumptions and the problem could be due elsewhere.

There are also a few other comments on the Feedback Hub about their reduced speed NVME.

Random write speeds on Nvme m.2 and ssd 4k have been halved and read time has been tripled in Windows 11.

Low registration performance, IOPS registration and delay

If you're one of the users experiencing a slowdown in NVMe speed, you can add your own comments.
