Install Windows Phone 8.1 Update 2

Last week, however, rumors that started circulating online suggested that more they could get GDR2 in the coming months as Microsoft prepares the way for Windows 10.

Details of which models can receive this update are not yet available but Microsoft has confirmed that Windows Phone 8.1 Update 2 is required if you want to obtain Windows 10 for Phones build 10051.

At this time, it seems that too many mobile devices can receive the update, such as Lumia 830 and 930, despite the fact that the latter has not been announced.

Microsoft does not provide any direct update method to download it Windows Phone Update 8.1 2. But you can download it with a simple trick if the update is actually available for your device.

Windows app is the app that will give you access to GDR2. Just download it, and select the “Fast” channel when prompted and check for updates you can get.

After installing Update 2 you may be prompted to install Windows 10 for Phones build 10051. Make sure you will not accept the request when you are prompted to install the technical preview if you do not want it.
