Windows how to add programs to startup

There is a lesser-known option for those who want to add programs to startup. Applications that are not registered in Windows as startup tasks can be added using File Explorer.
Windows 11 1
To do this, open a RUN window by pressing Win + R. Then type shell: appsfolderThis will open a window of File Explorer which contains the applications installed on the computer. Keep this window open and then open another dialog box with Win + R. Type shell: startup and a File Explorer window will open containing the applications that are already in startup for your account.

These applications are set to start automatically when you log in to Windows. You can then drag and drop the application you want from the first window into the Startup folder. Windows will use this shortcut to start the program you added automatically at log in.

Microsoft also has the shell:common startup command for users who want a startup program to apply to everyone using the computer, not just their own account. This is most useful for shared machines.
