Microsoft has released new details about the Windows Recall feature. Due to the intense criticism the company received for security issues, postponed the availability of Windows Recall.
Now Redmond has unveiled an improved version of Recall, set to begin testing this fall.
The company says it is continuing its work on Windows Recall and that the first public builds of Windows 11 with Recall will be available to Windows Insiders starting in October 2024.
Microsoft promises to share more details about the feature before testing begins.
“Committed to delivering a reliable and secure Windows Recall (preview) experience on Copilot+ PCs, we're announcing that Recall will be available to Windows Insiders starting in October. As we reported on June 13th, we've adjusted our release approach to leverage the valuable expertise of the Windows Insider community before making the Recall available for all Copilot+ PCs Security remains our top priority, and when the Recall is released to Windows Insiders on October, we will publish more details.”, the company says on its blog.
Recall that experts who had access to the original version of Windows Recall discovered quickly that the feature stores data in an unencrypted format. In the original implementation, Recall was a nightmare for privacy violations and quite insecure.
So Microsoft discontinued the release.
That's all good
It would be even better if you told us what the recall is
